Jesus had a mommy too

When Anneka needs her apple-juice, you'd think that she's in a desert dying of dehydration. The panic and need this child has is a bit over the top! Usually I can get her juice in ample time before she has a melt-down, but sometimes if I'm busy...she'll have to wait.

Well...there have been many times where I see her trot by with a sippy-cup full of juice, and I go to the kitchen to find a little spill on the floor (gingerly wiped up with my tea-towel) and the juice neatly put away in the fridge.

Yvonne: Anneka....what did you do? Didn't I ask you to wait for Mommy?"
Anneka: But Mommy....I poured my OWN juice...and guess what?! JESUS HELPED ME!"
*silence*
Yvonne: Well Anneka, you tell Jesus that He has to ask Mommy first too.
Anneka: *Puzzled look*

Has Mommy just been elevated above Jesus? Is Jesus really helping Anneka pour juice? I mean...she's doing a very good job, minus the little bitty spills (that she cleans up) Perhaps I should let her pour her juice. Or perhaps Mommy and Anneka should together have a chat with Jesus and ask him to help Anneka be patient and wait for Mommy to pour her juice! Or perhaps I should explain that even Jesus had a Mommy that he had to obey. Hmmmm. At least she's not saying "the Devil made me do it!"
