svelte and sassy

Okay, well I'm at least one of those.

A couple weeks ago I decided to make some slow lifestyle changes. Since I love Carbs (and carbs love me, no doubt) Atkins was out of the question. I mean, that Atkins dude....what's he thinking?? Talk about robbing joy from life! Anyhow, I decided to begin working out 6-7 days a week. I know that 'they' say that 4-5 is fine, but I'm a creature of habit. It's all or nothing. I can't skip a day, because then I'll skip 32 days. That's just how I am. So I allow myself to rest on Sundays. (Great Idea, Lord!)

I'm not sure I want to make any drastic food changes. I'm choosing those lower-fat snacks, and low fat icecream (gotta have the icecream!) and just eatting smaller servings. (I use a small desert plate to 'trick' myself. And yes, it does work. I'm one of those people who is easily fooled by herself. I also set my clock 5 minutes fast, and never think "Hey....I actually have 5 minutes". I'm a sucker)

So anyway....day 15...and I've been doing well. Down 5 pounds. Now, 5 pounds doesn't sound like alot, but again...in my head I rationalize this way. 5 is half of 10. 10 is half of 20. 20 is halfway to 40. So hey....40's not that far away! (40's half of 80, and that's like losing "Mary-Kate Olson" off of your butt)

We'll see how it goes. The girls are getting older....Aila is more independent....and now I need to take some time for myself. Wish me luck.
