growing up

My little girl is going to school soon!

Tomorrow we have an appointment to meet her teacher (Mr McGregor). She'll get to see her classroom, and get aquainted with him. I'm nervous! This is a big change! She'll be gone every day (in the afternoon). I think I shall miss her! However, I know this is good for her. A friend of mine said it best when she said "Anneka is not one who appreciates boredom".

That is exactly it. I think alot of her mis-behaviour is simply due to boredom. Because when we go out, she acts just fine. Lots to do, lots to see. I think school may just be exactly what she needs to keep her excited about life!

I'm looking forward to the time with Aila. Anneka gets alone time with me when she is napping, but Aila never has Mommy-time. Anneka is always around. So this should be good for our relationship. I'm looking forward to getting to know Aila even more (and working on sign language, talking, and other educational stuff) I haven't had the time with her to do much of the stuff I was able to do with Anneka early on.

In other news, my knitting is coming along great. I had to take it apart twice because the width wasn't right.... but that wasn't a big deal. I'm wanting to make a long furry piece about 2-3 inches wide, which I will be attaching to the hood of Anneka's new coat. Just around the edge. I'll also put a furry trim on the bottom edge of the coat too.

I'll get it done today, and then I'll start on Aila's white fuzzy scarf.

I think I'd like to have my pal Cindy give me little 'lessons' followed by knitting assignments. Each one a little trickier. A winter hat, a little sweater....I mean....how hard could THAT be? Cindy, you should have a little weekly class at your house. Charge us for the supplies....and give us a weekly assignment! What do you think??

Anyone wanna learn? How about you IRENE?? I just know you are dieing to learn how to knit! *snicker snicker*
