Mattress Season

Living in the West End of Winnipeg has been most adventurous. It's not the North End, mind you....it's a bit safer. It's an area that is in the process of being rejuvenated. A lot of young families moving in, and fixing up character homes. However, there are still the broken homes, and broken families. It kinda is a perfect combination...many people in need, and many who can love them.


One of the most unique aspects has been the interesting trash seasons. For example, in September...all of a sudden....every house seemed to have an old mattress sitting out by the trash!
It was weird! I mean, I know I'm new to the neighborhood and all...but did I miss the flyer? I don't have a mattress to throw out, but I sure would have liked to get involved in the festivities somehow. Today I decided to take some snapshots for you, my blog readers of
"September Mattress Season in the West End of Winnipeg"
.........BUT...........I could only find these three examples!


I wondered what had happened! Where had Mattress Season gone? Then like a thump on the head it hit me. It wasn't September anymore!!



That explained why I seemed to find an inordinate amount of couches. October has come, and COUCH SEASON IS UPON US!
Big couches, little couches. Chairs, you name it. All have one thing in common. Rips, and age.



Okay I'm catching on! I hope the cycle doesn't change from year to year, because I'd hate to the laughing stock of the neighborhood to be tossing out a couch when it's clearly
