Thunder Bay

After 7 hours on the road, we are now in Thunder Bay. We arrived at our hotel, took the girls for a swim, and now we're sitting in the hotel restaurant waiting for our meal. Happily, they have a wireless signal here. : ) This restaurant boasts "The One Pound Baked Potato" It's stuffed with all matter of things. It sounds good. I just ordered it. Just the potato...nothing else. I figure it will be a meal on its own.

The girls are travelling alright...but around 6 pm they both get grumpy. Aila is beside me at the table, hiding UNDER the table having a snit. I'm not sure why....except that she's hungry NOW and not happy to have to wait for her meal. Being kooped up in the car all day is tiring for them I guess.

All our energy is going into keeping the kids content and excited. We keep saying what an adventure this is...and how lucky we are to have each other to share the adventure with.

I haven't cried yet. I feel rather numb...like it's not quite real. My Dad said it's "God's Anestetic" (sp?) so that I could get thru this...and help my kids get thru it too. I like that. However, I'm wondering just when it will all hit me....

That's all for now.......

Safe travels and great blessings to you guys! You are in my prayers! I pray that this adventure is full of peace and joy : )

My brother and I heard your song, "Spilled out and broken" on CHVN (95.1 FM) on Saturday and screamed/laughed/got really excited and cranked it up!!! That's the best song I've heard on that station in a long time .... should I have just written that??? ; ) It made me miss you!

Enjoy the trek to Ottawa - I'm excited to read about how it's going!

You are almost here. Praying for ya. My kids get odd after being in the car for long periods of time too. My family is in the Maritimes to we are familiar with the loooonnnngggg journey.

Bless you guys! It is great to see this as an adventure, because I'm sure that is what God's wild and adventurous heart has in mind when He calls us, like Abraham, to leave the comforts of home.

Ya, travelling with kids is...interesting! The first 12 hours were ok (most of them were at night while the kids were sleeping) but hours 22-24 got tough! A sleepover in Cleveland helped the next 6 hours go better. Then a week in TO before our next 17+ hour stretch to NB! Let's just say I'm happy to be flying home!
