Day Four

Well....we're still waiting for our stuff to arrive from Winnipeg. Tuesday at the latest...they say. We're not holding our breath!! We're living in a hotel, and going to the house each day to get things done. We painted 2 bedrooms yesterday (primed, and then painted) in 6 hours. The kids played happily outside the whole time. Today we had to wait for the cable/phone dude to come and hook us up. So, we finally have phones! However, we aren't staying there yet...so don't call. : P We're not there. (and our voicemail isn't set up yet either)

Tomorrow we have no plans. I think I'll take the girls for a walk at Parliament Hill. Show them the canal...that kinda thing.

It really doesn't feel like we've "moved" here. Just kinda feels like a vacation. Hotels, eating out, swimming, shopping. The only thing that seems different from a vacation is the big empty house we visit daily, and the new neighbors we have met. (who, by the way, are really great! They are both our age, and have young kids. In fact, most every house on the street has kids...which has made Anneka's week!)

We attended a church today. We didn't last long. We left after the worship. I don't want to be negative, and I'm sure the people who attend there are quite happy and lovely people....but....lets just say: It wasn't for us. I suppose we could have stayed, but we didn't see the point. If we aren't going to end up there...we didn't see the point of sitting thru the entire thing. Besides, they didn't have kids church, so the girls were a little antsy. One down, 25 more to go....there HAS to be a community around her somewhere!!!!!

Hope your stuff shows up very soon. There will be something very comforting and relieving about that, I'm sure.

It's hard to believe that you are actually there! So glad to hear of your neighbours. We moved away from a shared yard and friends for the kids. It is a precious thing.

I will not comment on the church thing...we are church.
Not them.
We are an organic body.
No building required.
Okay, I lied.
I did comment on the church thing.

But I will stop harping now.

Hey Yvonne...just wanted you to know that we miss you guys and are thinking and praying for you. I don't think it really sunk in for me that you were really leaving until we said goodbye at DQ. Reading your blog and hearing your updates makes me feel like you are much closer to home. Hope that your moving in Tuesday goes smoothly. Are you going to post some pictures of your place once you're settled?

Wowh, you're really gone.. I'm glad you had a safe trip. Weird.. you're still in Canada.. but so far away.. In Holland, you would be somehere in Italy right now with that distance.. Take good care of yourself and your family.. enjoy painting.. and moving in, unwrapping your stuff, I love doing that.. at least when things can have their own spot.. not when I move something around and around in my house and it doesn't seem to have a real spot in our home of it's own.. it is just in the way and it keeps me busy.. hate that.. Anyway.. that's not what i wanted to write.. How did I get there.. Yvonne.. I hope all is well.. miss you and love you, Pauline
