hands

This afternoon I was watching Anneka play, and she scraped her knee against the table corner.I heard her whisper a quiet "Ouchie", and her hand flew to cover the spot that was scraped.

Then I heard these words:

"There IS healing in our hands"

Have you ever noticed that when you hurt yourself, the first thing you do is place you hand on the spot? We quickly cover it with a flat hand. It comes totally naturally to us. Why? Why do we ALL do that?

I thought about how Christ instructs us to pray for people by the 'laying on of hands'. There must be something supernatual that happens thru our hands.

Could it be that from the beginning He designed us to have healing hands? Did Adam and Eve know that whenever they were hurt, a hand over the wound would heal it? What happend when sin entered the world? Did Sin somehow steal this from us? Did faithlessness in our Healing Father do it?

Interesting hey? You look at those wacky people who claim to heal just by placing their hands on people...or slightly above them. Now, without Christ as our centre...all this stuff gets creepy...but maybe they know something that we have forgotten.

There IS healing in our hands. When we, our kids, our friends...have a pain, headache, or hurt....just as our first reaction is to place our hands on OUR wounds, we need to have that 'instinct' for others. Let our first response be instinctive. We need to remember that God heals. And He loves to use our hands to do so.
