Mass isn't just a measurement of weight...
Today I get to experience my first Catholic Mass. The girl's school (A Catholic Elementary School) is holding the "Thanksgiving Mass", and they'll be singing some songs, and reciting some prayers in French and English. I'm excited! Should be interesting!
It took a few weeks before I realized that this school has NO music program of any kind. In Winnipeg, they had a music room, with it's own music teacher. They had choir, learned about notation and rhythm, and even had a dance class. No such thing here. Music is completely missing. It made me sad! Music was Anneka's favorite part of the school day.
I asked Anneka what she thought about the fact that her school had NO music program like in Winnipeg. She said this:
"It's true that this school doesn't have music like in Winnipeg....but Mommy...this school has something the Winnipeg school doesn't!! THEY TALK ABOUT JESUS!!!"
Wow. And seriously, I've seen Anneka's 'faith' grow leaps and bounds since attending a school where Jesus, the cross, resurrection, forgiveness of sins, and unwavering faith in an all-powerful Creator, is talked about every day.
What a blessing....and now I'm off to mass!

Speaking about music, I heard your song, "Spilled out and broken" on CHVN Sunday morning as I was driving to church.
Bless you, my child!
Hey Nancy, I know a good music teacher as well. Are we may be thinking about the same teacher?

I wished I could've come along with you to "Mass". I am very happy that Anneka is taking her faith so seriously.

We often use a modified Catholic Eucharistic service at Freedom, Eucharistic Prayer #3 to be more exact. I really enjoy the mass but am always a bit sad that the table is closed. I know I could sneak in, especially because I believe in the real presence, but as a recognition that there is still work to be done to reunite Christ's body I simply go up for a blessing. (Just cross your arms over your chest as you approach the Priest and they'll pray a blessing over you!)
I had a very dear friend who was a priest many years ago.(he is now with the Lord) He was radically saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, delivered from drug and alcohol addiction...the Lord used a young Pentecostal minister to set him free. Anyway, he once said to me ' The Lord doesn't invite you to dinner and not feed you.'
That was in regards to taking Communion.
