Pros and Cons

I have to say, I'm enjoying having a long fall. In winnipeg, the colors are so gorgeous, but the leaves fall quite quickly. Here, there are still leaves on the trees, and they say the leaves (tho coloured) stay until even after Halloween. That's really nice, because I do enjoy this time of year so much.

Last night I went for my run, and didn't even need a long-sleeved shirt. My t-shirt was fine!! A couple streets over from us are some very expensive homes that I like to run by. It seems that every single house is in a friendly competition who's yard can look cuter. With autumn here, there are pumpkins and cute lanterns marking their front paths. It makes it fun to run there, since the scenery keeps me occupied.

The cons have to be the aray of products that are not available in Ontario. Here is a short list off the top of my head:

  1. Flat Out Wraps
  2. Old Dutch Chips
  3. Kub Rye Bread
  4. Hotdog buns in packs of 12 (they only do 8 here!)
  5. Lowry's Seasoning Salt
  6. Campbell's Chunky Pea Soup
  7. Weed n' Feed Lawn treatment in the container that you just connect to your hose.
Not to mention the lack of EARLS restaurant here. (I miss them Chicken Tenders with plum sauce!) And there's nothing like Nucci's Gelati on Corydon. In fact, gelati is SO overpriced here...for $4 you get this little 1/2 cup scoop of gelati. For this reason, Renee and I are on a "Ontario Gelati Strike" We will not partake in any gelati other than Nucci's in Winnipeg. (It's all about the principle, you know!)

Oh, but the leaves are SO gorgeous. I miss them. Yellow is nice, but it does get boring after awhile. Especially when they are all wet all over your lawn and car and street, etc.

There is nothing like homemade soup. I just can't stand canned soups. They are too salty. I guess you'll be stocking up on some of those items when you come out. It's nice to know that the Peg isn't too easily replaceable.
