Tired

This trip 'home' couldn't be coming at a better time. I'm really tired of strangers. I'm just tired of not knowing people. I'm tired of being in a room, a church, a grocery store, and feeling awkward because I don't know people. Or is it that they don't know me?

Today I spent the morning crying. I'm just so tired of how hard this is. I just long to be at 'home', with my family. No family is perfect. They may be loud, or crazy, or tiring in their own way...but they know me. I know them. I'm craving familiarity.

I can't wait for Christmas Eve. It's the one night of the entire year that I look forward to the most. I love it. I love the chaos of the kids running everywhere, the laughing, complaining that we don't think my Mom made enough cheesesauce for the fondue.... and it's people I know and love. It's a night that hasn't changed since I was a little kid. And this year more than any other....I need that.

I need to go home.

Would be great to get together when you are back. I've not been doing much socializing at all this semester and sadly next semester is also going to be busy. But I keep thinking of you guys and wish we lived closer.

Have a great Christmas with your loved ones. Let it give you the strength you need to continue the journey.

blessings!

We are all looking forward to you being here. But take it from an old immigrant: after a week or so in Winnipeg you begin to long back to your home in Ottawa. Really!
Love you, dad.

You made me cry with this one. I could feel what you were saying. Knowing that I'm a part of the family made me feel so loved. We are all looking forward to seeing you all again . . . in person!

Hey Dad,

Did you try typing in your e-mail address in the username spot. That works for me.
