Winter in Ottawa
So, apparently this kind of snowfall hasn't happened since the 70's. For us, it's just normal (coming from Winnipeg) but not for Ottawa. They usually get some snow in November, but it melts. Sometimes snow doesn't arrive until late December. But the snow that came this November isn't going anywhere.
The average temp is about -6, dipping to -10 at night. Tomorrow will hit -17. And with the humidity, that's cold around here! It also makes the snow VERY heavy. Almost everyone on our street has a snowblower. And now we do too. (We split the cost with our neighbor!)
It's very weird to experience Winter in anyplace but Winnipeg. Even tho Ottawa's winter is rather similar (cold, snow etc) it's still different enough to notice, and make me aware that I'm not "in Kansas anymore".
The adventure continues....

The snow is the Peg is weird right now.
Its dry snow.
It is not good for making snowmen or snow balls or snow anythings. Its not sticky. Its weird and it is irritating.
Irritating snow.
That is what you are missing in Winnipeg.
Irritating snow.
