I'm good at other things...
We just got back from Kansas City today. WHAT A FREAKIN LONG DRIVE!? Seriously....who drives 23 hours, stays 3 days, and drives alllll the way back? Us...that's who. Remind me to NEVER do that again. Craziness!
That being said....I had a GREAT time! Our friend took along their PSP (Playstation video game thingy) that allowed me to play The Sims Castaway game for hours on end. Mind you, I looked like a weirdo most of the time...because with all the sun in the car, the glare made the screen hard to see. My solution was to drape my pashmina (scarf) over my head , totally covering me and blocking out the light. It was rather hard to breathe under there, but hey...sometimes you have to make sacrifices, ya know??
IHOP was wonderful as always. I would SO love to go again...for a longer time perhaps. It's just hard with the girls...they would NOT enjoy it down there (nothing to do), and being so far from home (Winnipeg) means we have no one to care for them. Quite a conundrum. However, we SO appreciate the MIL (Mother-in-Law, Nancy!) driving here from Peterborough....giving up a week to be with Anneka and Aila so that we could go on this much needed trip to IHOP!!!
One of the highlights (besides the 2 cute dresses I bought) was meeting Debi Banderman. She is a gorgeous girl, married, with 2 kids - who recently moved to KC. (They attend Forerunner Christian Fellowship) I met her online somehow this fall. I think she sent me an email one day....something like "Dont' think I'm a stalker...but....I read your blog..." and it turns out she's my long lost twin. Okay...so not twins. Her hair is MUCH nicer than mine (grumble grumble) but we have SO much in common, that it's ridiculous. ANYWAY...we finally got to meet, and it was SO MUCH FUN! Seriously....I wish she lived closer. I instantly felt safe, and knew that this friendship was going to be special. Why oh why couldn't they live HERE?? Bah!
Anyway... Jason got to meet her, and then her husband as well, and there was a total connection....at least WE really felt it.....(I think I'll stalk HER now...)
I laughed ALOT on this trip. There were SO many funny moments...you don't even know! Holy smokes! We seriously should have documented it on video. I've never laughed so hard, and so often! Good times....
So...remember those posts a couple months back about my persistent "wallet losing"?? Well...I simply stopped telling you when it would happen again, because really...then I'd just look STUPID. But it happened again at Lonestar Restaurant on Brigitte's birthday last month. Thankfully, someone in the lobby was honest, and looked at my drivers licenece, and searched the dining room until they found me. But I digress....on to the point:
On this trip I misplaced my cellphone. I ripped apart my purse, but it was nowhere to be found. I was sure it was in the van, so I had Jason call the number as I searched. No Ringing. Silence. Nothing. I was SURE I'd find it eventually....I took Jason's phone and tried again later. It wasn't until I looked at his 'speed dial' that I noticed something. He had the WRONG number programmed in! He had 301 as the first 3 digits...when it should be 330!! ("What a duffus!!" I thought!) But wait...he had sent me a text earlier that day....and sent it to the 301 number. So then....how on earth did I get the msg?
Unless....
Oop-sie Daisy....
EVIDENTLY, my phone number does not start with 330. This is an important detail.....especially since for the last 4 months, I've been handing out my ' number' to people. My discouragement with these damn Ottawa-ians had been mounting, as none of those "jerks" ever called or texted me ONCE!!
Well...this could be because I was handing out some other guy's phone number to everyone. Turns out Ottawa-ians are just fine....not jerks...not cuss-worthy. They've just been duped. Including Debi Banderman. (who, incidentally, lost the number anyway - remember- she's like me) I mean...who ever CALLS their OWN cell number? NO ONE! EXACTLY! Can you fault me for not knowing my own cell number? Pft!
So...now I know that my cell number starts with 301 (not 330), I have a whole new lease on life.
....except that now I need a new phone....uh...and maybe I should call poor little Mr. 330 and ask him if I have any messages.....

Hi Yvonne
I am glad you finally blogged and what a great blog it is, very entertaining I must say.
Talk to you soon.
Love MOM
So does your number start with 330 or 301? I was a little confused there at the end. I think you wrote that the wrong way around.
Anyway, glad to hear you had a great trip. That is a LONG car ride.
Thanks COrrie...I fixed that. Honestly...I was so confused by this blog when I read it over...that I had to AGAIN ask Jason "What are the first 3 digits of my cell number again?"
I'm good at other things, I'm good at other things....*sigh*
