Sleepy Easter!
Well, it's Easter morning. He is risen....but I'm having a hard time! heh heh.
Aila has been sick the last 2 days. She has thrown up 5 times, had a fever of 103.4, and then last night she had THREE nosebleeds. It wouldn't be so bad, except she doesn't know enough yet (being 4) to catch the blood from her nose. So she tearfully walks from her room to ours, and stands beside our bed crying. Drip drip drip drip.
The first time was bad enough....spot after spot of blood on the carpet in her room, and the hallway, and our room. I had a bowl of ice-water, and I scrubbed for a while. Her bedding had to go in the wash, her blankie, her pj's, and a couple rags used to clean up. That was at 11:30. The next nosebleed happened at 1, and another at 2:30. Drip drip drip. Scrub scrub scrub. By 3, I was crying as i scrubbed the carpet and put in the THIRD load of laundry.
Jason says he had chronic nosebleeds like this....so he knows what to do. I get freaked out right away...and said that if she had one more, we'd be going to the ER. Luckily, they stopped, and we all were able to fall asleep again.
So, today is Easter. Aila's fever is finally gone, so we're going to go to Vikki and Jon's church. Vikki's family invited us to join them for Easter dinner tonight. We were pretty thrilled, because in Winnipeg, we would have had dinner with family....and in the absence of family....Vikki and Jon's parent's (both sides) are the closest thing we have to 'family' here. So tonight we're at Vikki's Mom's, and Monday we're at Jon's parents for dinner. Isn't that nice?
(Renee....I'm bringing your Mom's Poppyseed Salad to dinner tonight!)
Okay...time to get ready for church.

Happy Easter to the Parks! Have a great day!
I'm glad you're still loving that dressing... my mom will be pleased to hear it.
I hope little Aila gets better soon. :(
Happy Easter to all of you.
Oh no! How awful! We've had the flu all weekend, but no blood -- I don't do blood -- that would be awful and have me in tears, too! I'll be praying for you, friend -- hope she's beginning to feel better!
Debi :)
(I made a typo - so I deleted the previous comment. - sorry :p )
I'm so glad that you had some place to go this weekend. Viki is a great friend! Mom had a really great meal for all of us. We missed having you all there. Your Mom tried her best to make it special for us and she succeeded. She is truly a great MIL to me.
I'm sorry to hear about Aila's week. Poor thing. I'm glad she is doing better now. I wonder how the bleeding could be prevented? I would be freaking out too. For sure.
