This is called the "Bike Buddy". This would be awesome to have...since Aila is still to small to keep up with us on a family bike ride. It's $99, which means we can't do it this year..but maybe next summer.
Isn't it fun?
I started this blog 17 years ago, back when most people said "What's a Blog?" (and before Facebook!) Well, I'm still here maintaining this blog when I can, simply to continue archiving all the memories that I have invested here. :)
We moved to Ottawa in August of 2007, but I've spent the previous years of my life in a city called Winnipeg (Ever heard of it?) I've been a worship leader for over 33 years, and I often say that "I don't really like music...I just love worship"
If you like, you click on the CD in the right column of this blog, and hear clips of my album "Only One Love".
And work? I have a small graphic design company (www.pearcreative.ca) specializing in Book Cover Design and marketing materials. I love love LOVE my job!
I share my adventures with my incredible husband of 25 years (Jason) and our two gorgeous daughters aged 16 and 19.

I wonder what the do in Holland?
Wait.... they put a kids seat on the back of an adult bike! How smart is that!!!!!

How neat is this?
Sharon has something like that, works great.
In Holland we have THIS small bikes 4 children (as shown on Y.'s blog), also the backseat on the parent's bike,
My daddy used to carry us all 3 girls on the back of his bike:on a selfmade-designed seat...'a bigger-longer made backseat, with a pillow on it"
We also have in Holland "the bakfiets" ( bike with a 'box' in front on wheels) Do you remember seeing that Yvonne in Amsterdam?
In Amsterdam citizens used the 'BAKFIETS' also for shopping because its hard to park there....
Now its also used everywhere for carrying baby's and small children....like Aila.
I will make a picture for you Yvonne! and click on this link: http://www.bakfiets.nl/
Mom...
That's cool...they have them at toys r us...but that's for littler kids. Aila is 40 pounds...so too big for those front carrier ones.
Joanne...The only problem is that it's not legal here to have your child on the bike unless it's in a government certified carrier. We have trailers that you can pull ...but they are very expensive.
I'll just have to save up! :P
OK Yvonne, i did not realise that's not legal in Canada top bike fr kids,I completely forgot.
Holland is more a countrie where biking is as 'normal'as walking, but we have also the 'bike-lanes/paths'(esspecially for bikers) so its more safe for little kiddies, for example: Cars always go with a BIG turn around children,( or drive very slow) when they see child-bikes on the roads, we are all also VERY carefull, kids can makes moves.... Ooow I must NOT think about riding over a kid...
So I understand why it maybe is not (yet) legal to bike in Canada.
Yvonne, we have this for Aaron and it was worth every penny!! We got it at Sport Check, so look there - sometimes they are priced better...
Love you!
When we went on our family bike ride we saw one of those. I thought it was the coolest thing and instantly coveted it. Hudson has no problem keeping up with us but Evan did have some difficulty. He survived though and had a great time in the process but the Bike Buddy would have made things a bit easier on the little guy. We may look around for that too. It would come in very handy in a few years for Alyssa.
