So kids...how was your day?

School update:

  • Anneka thinks her new teacher (Mrs Hamlet) is just great. When I asked her how her first day went, she replied "It was AWESOME!"
  • Anneka's best friend Charity (who's parents are spirit-filled Christians) is in her class this year again.
  • Anneka's special...err... 'friend' Reed is NOT in her class. She did call over to him in the school yard to say hello, but he didn't really respond. She assumed he was having a very important conversation and couldn't reply to her just then. That's right, dear...stay positive!
  • Aila wonders why she has to have a new teacher, and would rather have her old one, but still thinks the new one is okay for now.
  • Aila's old teacher happens to be Anneka's french teacher this year. Aila thinks that this isn't quite fair.
  • Aila's self-proclaimed "boyfriend" Cole is in her class again, and she is just delighted. She says that she played with him lots today, and that he is her 'very best friend'. I met Cole's Dad today, and Cole has never mentioned Aila at home. Ah yes...unrequited love. My girls can sure pick 'em!
At kids-church on Sunday, the kids were asked to pray about things that they may be concerned about regarding starting school again.

Anneka prayed and asked God to help her with her marks. She was nervous about getting too many "s" for satisfactory on her report card. (I think those are like C's)

Aila prayed and asked God to keep the other kids away from her so she can "play by herself for once."

Great pictures Yvonne. The girls have grown so much over the summer. These are such wonderful years you are enjoying. Love you all very much.

that was me deleting :) I should learn to proof read....

I called Jordan after school and said we were coming home early cause we wanted to hear all about his first day of gr.7 in a big jr high/high school.

His response: "What's there to hear?"

I said, "I want to hear everything, ALL about it, even the boring stuff."

"It's ALL boring stuff" he says

sigh

I did not think Aila would appreciate a new teacher.
