my life as a SIM
In the SIMS, you create a virtual family. You choose a home, and the members can walk around their home as you desire. You have a chart of their needs. Hygene (give your Sim a shower!), Bladder (when a SIM's gotta go, a SIM's gotta go!...they blur your sim as they pee!) Emotional wellbeing, energy, hunger, relationships etc.
I started my game by creating my family. I called them the PARKS'. (duh) I made a Jason character who had short hair and glasses, and who's character was very neat, organized and kind. Then Yvonne. Blonde, in jeans...very outgoing, less neat etc. (No kids, that's too tricky!)
Well, other characters were coming to the house, and I was too busy figuring it all out to bother talking with them. You can decided to TALK, JOKE, COMPLIMENT, TICKLE etc. I clicked on the button ASK THEM TO LEAVE. There. Now they were all gone. Nosey neighbors!
So Jason and I were having a great ol time. We both had good jobs as Waiters. (Not much choice in the paper that day) One day as Jason was making our dinner (muhahah) the stove caught fire. I clicked for him to put it out...and he tried. I tried. We both tried with our extinguishers. I clicked and clicked. The fire spread, and Jason was trapped in the middle. By the time I had remembered that I could use the PHONE and call the fire department, Jason had perished in the fire! (as had my stove)
Now I was alone. I'd missed a couple days of work (didn't get to the street on time to catch my ride) so they fired me. My "emotional well being" and "companion" levels were in the red. I tried to find another job, but my character wouldn't even look in the paper stating "I'm too depressed to look for work!" I tried to solve the depression by buying a pin-ball machine. That worked a bit, however, Yvonne would stop in the middle and burst out in sobs while a little 'thought balloon' with Jason's face in it hovered over her head.
I decided to find some companionship. I went to the phone to try to call some of the neighbors who had visited when we first arrived. However, none of them would give me the time of day! They all hated us because we hadn't been kind to them!
I was stuck! No friends, no job (too depressed because of the NO FRIENDS thing) and nothing to do besides pin-ball! I sold the URN that hold Jason's ashes to buy a TV, but that didn't help either.
Needless to say, I abandoned the game and decided I'll have to try again.
This time, I'll be more friendly to the neighbors!
