I really hate running. Really...I really really do. I don't like it. However, I know it's good for me, and so I do it. Besides, I love being outside at night. I love looking at these gorgeous homes in my neighborhood. Some streets have massive homes that are 4 or 5 times larger than mine. But it's not the size that I like, but how they have landscaped their yards. Pretty pathways, lights, shrubs and flowers. So pretty. It really makes the run interesting to see all the different homes and how creative people can be. It inspires me and give me ideas of what I can do with my front yard to make it cute and inviting. (I can't wait to walk these streets some evening next week with my Mom!! I'm so excited to see her!)
But back to running. I wonder how long a person can do something they dislike so much..before finally saying "to heck with it!" I know people who have worked for 20 years at a job they hate. How unbearable! I figure, if they can do it....I can do this. Like I said, I'm learning a discipline here. What you choose to do (or not do) cannot be solely based on what you like or don't like. Sometimes you just have to do what you know is the 'right' thing. And the payoff? I feel great after doing something I hate. Go figure.
I'm thankful that Renee has ran with me these past 2 nights. It's been a lovely distraction, and has helped me get back into the rhythm of living healthily.

I too hate running! On another note, you must be getting so excited for your mom's visit!
I am looking forward to walking with you in the evening, walking, not running, that is not my thing. I admire you for getting back to it. Pretty soon it will become a good habbit.
How is it that something a person dislikes is good for them, while eating something that taste soooo good, like fries, is soooo bad!
Love you
Mom
