The other night, Aila did NOT want to go to bed, but like always, we just had to say "You're GOING to bed, Aila..." and she'd slump over and shuffle down the hall to her room. No fight. That is, until we went to peek in on her an hour later. She wasn't there. Not under the blankets, not on the top bunk...nowhere to be found. Then we had a thought...

Aila also has had a loose tooth for the last couple weeks! This is a great adventure for us, since Anneka has never had a loose tooth! Her adult teeth just grew in behind her baby ones, and we had to have them pulled. All of her baby teeth. They just don't fall out! Anyway, Aila having a loose tooth (and at such an early age - she's 5) was a parenting first for us! While Jason wanted to "assist" her by pulling the tooth, I was a more "let nature do it's thing" person.

This afternoon, Aila came up to my office after her lunch and started chatting away. I looked at her....looked closer...and then asked her: "Umm...where's your tooth?"
She didn't even realize it was gone! She ran to the bathroom, examining the hole that had taken the wobbly tooth's place.
Long story short: she ate it. I guess she must have been hungry, because she ate her whole lunch, never noticing that her tooth came loose. It was probably swallowed, swimming in a big spoon of applesauce. I think I would have noticed if I had eaten my tooth....but that's just me. : )

What about the tooth fairy story? You forgot to mention that!
Oh, that is great!! What a wonderful, delightful story. She is such a sweetie.
Wow she is growing up so fast. Angel swallowed her second tooth she lost. She has 3 loose ones right now, one we keep asking if we could trying pulling a little since it wiggles all the way back and forth. She refuses! I suspect we will have another where did the tooth go episode very soon!
Hope all is well!
Evan swallowed his first tooth too. They just don't realize how very loose it was.
