Stories

My Dad is 77. While he's battled cancer, and now fights with Parkinson's and other health issues related to aging...his mind is still incredibly sharp. (He watches University science and philosophy lectures on youtube for fun!) His memory is really amazing...better than mine I'm sure.

I began to think about the incredible time in history that my Dad lived through. He was in Holland when Hitler's Nazis invaded, and began what was to be known as the Holocaust. Most people who experienced that time in history are gone. I wondered how many stories we hadn't heard yet...and how we'd ever be able to pass these on to our kids once my Dad was gone. While my Mom had a diary through her life, my Dad's stories are all kept stored (quite thoroughly) in his brain.

Since my Dad has a blog...and some free time...I asked him to start writing little snippets of memories for us to read, and keep. (If it's blogged, it's kept online, in a virtual storage facility that is safer than our own hard-drives!) It turns out, he is a very talented writer! The stories are short little snap-shots....and so very entertaining!

So take a look...and join my Dad down "memory lane"...starting in 1936
