Good Times
So I haven't posted this week, because I was having fun with Rhonda! She left on Wednesday night, which was sad...but we had 48 hours of fun and LOTS of laughing! We were both refreshed....
Today Jason and I had lunch with the pastor of a cool church called City Church. He had invited us out after we visited the church 2 weeks ago. It was so awesome to finally find a church that spoke the same language. He reminds us of David Ruis in so many ways. A bit of a rebel in the best sense of the word, (not sticking to conventional rules of church and community) and really Spirit led in his building (and deconstructing) of the church. (Wanting only to follow the Spirit's vision, and not a vision merely of man-made structure)
Then tonight, we went for dinner with Alain and Andrea. They are a couple we've met here. Alain (Al) is a wonderful worship leader, and his wife Andrea is a real troublemaker! hehe. Andrea made me this awesome necklace that I LOVE, and she's just a really fun chick. We really really like them. They are alot of fun, and Al and Jason can talk for hours about worship, intercession etc....and they are matched in passion, and are on the exact same wavelength. (Al even loves IHOP-KC!) I can't help thinking how much Sanctuary people would LOVE these two!
So my 'self-assignment' this week has been to be social. Rhonda was here, and I introduced her to a couple of my Ottawa friends (Doing the Ottawa version of "Girls at Earls"...except since there isn't an Earls here, we had to improvise!) Then we went to Ikea, and took Brigitte with us. (Rhonda really enjoyed her!)
Wednesday Rhonda and I met Vikki for lunch, and we laughed so much....it was like we were 15 again!. After dropping Rhonda at the airport, I went to see Vikki give her powerful testimony at a drop-in she's involved in. I was SO proud of her! In a room that is usually full of chatter and noise, you could have heard a pin drop. Everyone was hanging on every word. I wanted to yell out "HEY! That's MYYY friend, you know!"
So, today we were out with people twice....and Renee awesomely offered to watch the girls both times. Such a great day!
Tomorrow I'm going to a "Survivor Party". Someone we've met here has the Survivor Board Game, and since I'm a fan...I'm totally looking forward to that! Jason is staying home with the girls, since he's not a fan of Survivor OR board games! haha
Sunday night I'm hopefully having dinner with a girl named Dayna that I met here as well.
I'm trying really hard. Trying to make efforts to connect. Trying to expose myself to friendship, and see where it leads.
So far so good...

I am glad that you had a great week and that you finaly find a church that your family will enjoyed and that suit your needs. I was happy that Rhonda came to visit you it was fun meeting her I had a good time with both of you.
YEAH! I'm so happy for you! I KNOW how difficult it is to stretch and get out there and meet new people! :)
I am SO SO SO proud of you :)
Hey Eric is a good guy. My Ottawa Mom (long story) was going to City Church, she lives just down the street. She really enjoyed it there. I basically know Eric from pastors gatherings and through friends who went to the Life Centre way back when he was worship pastor there.
Frank,
Yeah...someone described him as "a bad ass", and right away I thought this could be a great fit! hahaha
Hmmm, I'm having trouble picturing Eric as a "bad ass". Then again I'm not sure there are really any "bad ass" pastors in Ottawa, none that I know anyway. Lots of really generous hearts though.
