Glasses
Last week, Anneka complained that when her teacher used a red marker on the white board, she couldn't read it. She could only see the black marker. (Instead of blackboards, her school has giant whiteboards!)
This was the first time we'd heard her say anything like this. The teacher moved her to the front of the class, and we made an appointment with the eye doctor.
Sure enough....she needs glasses. And does she EVER! Her eyes are actually worse than mine! I don't know how she functioned this long without seeing. Wearing her glasses put a huge smile on her face. The whole world was crisp and clear...she couldn't believe it! She kept peering over them and saying "It's so blurry without them! How did I ever see???"
Sadly, they say her eyes will only worsen, and will probably be somewhere between Jason and my prescription. I told her though, that not only could she get contacts someday, but by the time she's grown, Lasik Eye surgery will cost a nickle. : P

Oh she looks sooooo cute. I have to put that picture on my desktop. She makes me laugh. Oh I could just squeeze her and hear her say: "Ouch Oma you hurt me!"

Vikki
That's what I told her! "They are like Auntie Vikki's!"
I told her "let's find you some funky glasses" and she said (no word of a lie)
"Mommy...that's not really my style....I'm not a 'funky' type of girl. I'm more into looking beautiful"
Well,Anneka , you do look beautiful! And how amazing is it to be able to see clearly ? Love you and see you on Saturday.
She looks great! How amazing to go from blury to clear!

I think Anneka is adorable, especially in the last photo. (don't tell her I called her adorable.) Actually, she looks very sophisticated. Glasses for kids sure have come a long way.
